Today is LEARNING about your audience.⁣
⁣
This is important because you've done work on identifying who they are and what they're about but that doesn't mean that task is over for good. Your audience, like your business, will evolve and for you to stay connected with them you need to do some learning. ⁣
⁣
So how can we learn about our audience?⁣
⁣
• LISTENING⁣
This is key. Set time aside to do some social listening in your business is so valulable because you will learn about what is currently challenging your audience so you can design ways to help them most.⁣
⁣
For example, if you are in Facebook Groups use the search function and type some keywords based on your business, this could be "social media help" or "what can a VA help with?" and voila, you will see posts that mention those words. You can see what language is being used and what the challenge or question is. This information can help you create your content and help them. ⁣
⁣
• WATCHING ⁣
Watch and learn how your audience behaves, the types of content they share, the way they do it and what they're talking about in their content and comments to other people. You want to be in tune with your audience because this is going to make your connection stronger. You will be able to deliver the value they seek and the help they need in their business. Join their newsletters, watch their IGTV's - connect and learn. ⁣

• INVOLVING⁣
One of the biggest ways we can learn about our audience is by simply involving them. Involve them in what you are doing. This can be done in a variety of ways from using features on Instagram Stories like questions, polls, chats and quizzes to segmenting your email list by asking them what they're interested in receiving from you and what kind of business they are. Involving your audience is going to provide you with insight that is invaluable as you'll be learning straight from them. ⁣

We can’t talk about audience without talking about ATTRACTING. How do we attract our audience to us? How do we make them feel like we’re the right fit, that we’re going to understand and get them better than anyone else out there? ⁣

🌟 SHOW UP⁣
In our businesses we need to show up and that can be in a variety of ways for whatever suits you and your business. But in order to attract our audience we need to be doing it. They need to see us and see what we offer, the value we give and how we can help. We need to be showing ourselves so they can see us. ⁣
⁣
💕 BE REAL⁣
I work with people in a very close, one to one setting and for people to work with me that way I want them to know what kind of person I am. What you see on these squares, in my content, videos and read in my newsletter is me. 100% me. I’m not afraid to share my own challenges and obstacles- hey if I don’t go have them how can I be equipped to help you overcome yours? I’m open, honest and live and breathe my values. I don’t pretend to know everything, I’m always learning. You’ve got to be real to your audience and to yourself as well. ⁣

💪🏻 ALWAYS BE YOU⁣
This is the key because there is no one out there like you. Yeah there’s plenty of people providing the same kind of service (maybe) but there’s no one like you delivering it. What you bring to the table is unique so in order to attract your audience you’ve got to be you. Your amazingness, skills, knowledge, personality and support is going to pull them right to you. Embrace it, own it, show it.⁣

This is the first series in a...well I guess more series of dedicated topics weeks. I chose to kickstart with audience because without knowing this stuff how on earth can we do anything else?⁣

So why is IDENTIFYING who your audience is so important?⁣
⁣
Because...⁣
⁣
1) You need to know who your serving.⁣
In your business you need clients, simple fact. If you don't identify who those clients are then how are you going to be able to serve them? How will you know what you want to help them with is exactly what they need?⁣
⁣
2) It structures your messaging.⁣
When you have identified your audience then you know exacty who you are speaking to in your messaging. This goes from the tone of voice in your website copy, to the language you use in conversations and how you talk to them. ⁣
⁣
3) You can't market your business without it.⁣
Yep, cold hard truth because if you don't know who your audience is chances are you are trying to market to every Jane, Bernice and Charlie out there. Which mean you're spreading your marketing net too wide and probably not catching the right fish. ⁣
